Gorman, Michaels. The Concise AACR2. 1998 rev. American Library Assoc., 1998.

 

A condensed version of the complete cataloging rules. This is designed for smaller libraries and less complete cataloging than the full version of the rules.

Kao, Mary Liu. Cataloging and Classification for Library Technicians. Haworth Press, 1995.

 

A manual that looks at the steps involved in descriptive cataloging, assigning subject headings, determining classification numbers and basic MARC techniques.

Dewey Decimal Classification. Forest Press.

 

Available in either an unabridged or abridged version, this supplies classification numbers for organizing library materials. The abridged version is designed for smaller libraries, to create an organizational scheme without the complexity of the full version, but the two versions cannot be used interchangeably.
